Hamid Kohan is a seasoned entrepreneur with a rich background in both the computer software and professional services industries. His journey began early, earning his engineering degree from Chico State University at just 17 years old. Immediately recruited to Silicon Valley, he entered the tech world working with several high-profile companies. By 21, Hamid had completed his MBA in business marketing, further fueling his career in technology and business management.

In his early career, Hamid played a significant role in pioneering technology. At Grid Systems, he served as Senior Manager of Product Development, collaborating with a team that developed the world’s first laptop computer. He later joined SUN Microsystems in 1984 as Senior Engineering Manager. During his time at SUN, Hamid worked alongside future tech leaders such as Eric Schmidt (Google CEO) and Carol Bartz (Yahoo CEO), contributing to the company’s growth from 200 employees to over 13,000 in just eight years. Following this success, he held senior leadership roles at Hitachi Computers and Tandem Computer (now HP), where he directed business and technology development initiatives.

In 1999, Hamid moved to Los Angeles and became Division President of Emblazed Technology (Webradio), a publicly traded company. Under his leadership, the company achieved 300% growth within 12 months and reached a $1 billion valuation. Building on this momentum, he co-founded CAPLUCK Inc. in 2004 and launched Cap60, which became a leading data management platform serving clients across 40 states and supporting nonprofit organizations throughout the United States.

Leveraging decades of experience in technology, operations, and business scaling, Hamid later expanded his focus to building companies that help professional organizations grow more efficiently through technology and global talent. Through MedVirtual, he is helping healthcare practices modernize operations by integrating highly trained remote medical professionals into clinical and administrative workflows. His work focuses on helping medical organizations improve operational efficiency, expand capacity, and scale sustainably through virtual staffing solutions.
